🚨 MATSOHO RISE: CRAFTING A NEW THEATRE LEGACY 🚨

On February 15th, we launched the Matsoho Rise Project. An initiative dedicated to uplifting young theatre professionals and showcasing the hands behind the magic of every production. The Project will produce monthly theatre shows, each featuring a new theme, a fresh set of stagehands, and opportunities for young professionals to gain experience, build portfolios, and secure employment.

This is just the beginning of a movement that will redefine theatre in South Africa!

But stagehands aren’t just technicians—every hand matters:
🎭 Hairstylists, caterers, drivers, casting directors, producers, stage managers, choreographers, and more! That’s why we are highlighting the unseen work that makes theatre come alive.

We see you. We value you. You are not just an expense.

If I buy those magwinyas you baked for rehearsals, your hands fed this production. If you braided 2 lines on an actor’s hair, you didn’t just do us a simple favor—you were the hairstylist of a professional theatre production, and your work deserves to be compensated accordingly.

Without your hands, there is no show!

🔹 Young creatives (18-35), let’s connect, collaborate and professionalize our skills!
🔹 Businesses & organizations, we need you! Partner with us to bridge the gap.
🔹 Not in the arts? Even better! Your expertise can help us build sustainable careers.

Let’s work together, brainstorm, support, and make this industry one where everyone thrives. Are you in? Share this message and connect with us! We are excited to hear from you.
