Botle Ba Matsoho Guild of Stagehands (Pty) Ltd was founded to combat the high unemployment rate among South African youth aged 18–35, particularly in the theatre industry. Beyond the lack of opportunities and financial barriers, we saw a deeper issue—young theatre professionals had no voice. Their talent remained ignored, their work unseen, their skills undervalued. Botle Ba Matsoho Guild of Stagehands exists to change that.
With emerging talent struggling for opportunities and financial barriers limiting artistic growth, founder Bokang Ntsutle established a platform to bridge the gap—connecting skilled yet underemployed theatre professionals with the South African stage to ensure visibility, sustainability, and career advancement.
After years of independently funding productions, she recognized the need for long-term structural support to expand her impact. By formally registering with CIPC and SARS, the Guild is now positioned to scale its initiatives, foster collaboration, and drive meaningful change in the creative sector
